First Baptist Church's 125th Aniversary

March 3rd was the church's 125th anniversary. We will be having events throughout the course of the year to celebrate.

The first events were held on Saturday, March 12th. On this day we gathered to do some cleaning up around the church and in the evening enjoyed a dinner and White Elephant auction.

An evangelism event was held to Share the Good News in Abington on Saturday, April 16th at 1 PM. In this event we delivered over 300 New Testaments inside a packet of information in a door to door campaign inviting families to church on Easter.

Special Spiritual Retreat September 24th 8 AM to 11AM —  Reaching our community with the Gospel.

125 Years of Ministry Celebration Dinner
October 29th 5 PM  —  The church will have a dinner highlighting the many mission outreaches of the church. We will have many of the mission organizations that we support represented.

Men's Bible Study

Wednesdays at 11 AM is a new weekly class studying the Bible book of Hebrews. All men (church membership not required) are invited to join us for a cup of coffee and a great time in God's Word!


National Day of Prayer

May 3rd — Remember to pray for our nation, its leaders locally, statewide, and nationally. Ask the Lord to bless our nation and that we might honor Him.

First Baptist Youth Learn About Famine

May 4 - 6 Beginning on the morning of May 4th the youth group will experience 30 hours without food in order to have a brief idea of what it is like to experience hunger. Their hunger will be short lived but in many countries it is a way of life and death.

The youth are taking in part in a project sponsored by World Vision to raise money to feed the hungry and to support work to end hunger. We ask you to support our youth with a donation to go to World Vision. Please make out a check to First Baptist Church of Abington, and note 30 Hour Famine in the memo line.


Spring Yard Sale

May 12th 9 AM - 2 PM — The American Baptist Women's Fellowship are having their annual Spring Yard Sale on Saturday, May 12th at the church on the lawn and in Fellowship Hall.


Right Hand of Fellowship

May 13th — The church will extend the Right Hand of Fellowship to welcome ten new members into membership at the morning services.


One Great Hour of Sharing Offering

May 20th —  The Board of Missions will accept a special offering to join with churches across America in support of mission work here in the USA and around the globe.
